A Better Building Experience Starts Before Construction

At Redknot Homes, we believe thoughtful planning, clear communication, and disciplined execution create a more confident homebuilding experience from the very beginning.

Our Core Values

These are the values that help our clients feel at home long before we ever build. They shape how we communicate, how we solve problems, and how we guide homeowners through every stage of the process with greater clarity and confidence.

  • A woman in a black dress opens a kitchen cabinet drawer with metal cups inside, standing in a modern kitchen with black cabinets, a white countertop, and a window with natural light.

    Organized Execution

We work efficiently, prioritize intentionally, and stay proactive so projects continue moving forward with clarity and momentum.

  • RedKnot Custom Homes team standing and talking in a spacious, minimally decorated room with a large window to the right.

    Improve the Process

Every problem identified should lead to a better process. We believe in documenting, refining, and implementing systems that strengthen the experience for clients and our team alike.

    Team-First Mentality

Great projects require great collaboration. We value humility, professionalism, accountability, and a shared commitment to constantly improving.

  • A woman laughing joyfully in a room under construction, standing in a doorway, wearing a black sleeveless top and white pants.

    Pride in Expertise

We take our craft seriously and continue learning through experience, industry relationships, and ongoing education so we can guide clients with confidence.

  • Group of people smiling and discussing blueprints at a dining table in a kitchen.

    Clear Communication

We believe over-communication creates trust. Consistent updates and proactive communication help clients, trade partners, vendors, and our team stay aligned throughout the process.

Our Story

Built on Experience, Backed by Relationships

RedKnot Custom Homes team standing outside a custom build home, smiling at the camera.

Following a successful career in corporate finance our founder, Mark Pottebaum, turned a lifelong passion for construction into Redknot Homes in 2007.

From the beginning, Redknot was built differently.

What began with remodels and investment projects evolved into a custom homebuilding company focused on creating a more organized, transparent, and thoughtful building experience.

Today, our team combines disciplined planning, thoughtful design, and proactive communication to help homeowners move through the building process with greater clarity and confidence.

We believe great homes come from more than good construction.

They come from aligned teams, trusted trade partners, and a process designed to reduce stress instead of creating it.

Because the difference isn’t just in the final home. It’s in how the entire experience feels along the way.

The Team

A clear homebuilding or remodeling experience starts by making the right decisions before construction ever begins. Our process takes you from first vision to a beautiful home built correctly with confidence.

The Difference Is In The Planning

Most costly surprises in homebuilding begin long before construction starts; when important decisions are rushed, budgets are unclear, or expectations aren’t aligned early enough.

That’s why Redknot focuses heavily on planning before construction begins.

Through our Building Clarity Process, we help homeowners align vision, design, selections, and investment early, creating a smoother and more confident experience from start to finish.

  • Thoughtful planning before construction

  • Transparent pricing and expectations

  • Clear communication throughout the process

  • Guidance through selections and design

  • Long-term support after move-in
